As a bonus this week, you should listen to two new demo releases from new projects from longtime Seattle musicians.

Kalimotxo demo album cover

Kalimotxo is the instrumental metal duo of guitarist Carlos Cotallo Solares and drummer Aaron Michael Butler. They blend doom metal, sludge, and hardcore punk, while being equally influenced by their experience with experimental and avant-garde music, noise, and free improvisation.

Subversion Trigger features Dave Abramson (drums), Les Evans (guitar), Zu Leika (bass), Brad Mowen (vocals), and Dave Webb (guitar). Thrash metal with “punishing riffs, ferocious vocals, and all at a breakneck tempo with just enough reserve that you can still feel every note.”
